We are aware of the impact that access to transportation has in enhancing the lives of our senior residents.   As of January 2, 2019, The Village partnered with the Village of Oakwood to provide senior transportation.  STC will no longer provide rides to Glenwillow residents.

The Senior Transportation Program with Oakwood Village shall include transportation services from Oakwood to the seniors in Glenwillow for medical appointments, shopping, personal business, recreation, nutrition, religious events and any other social events.

Who can use the Oakwood Village Van?

Seniors 60 years or older and physically challenged residents who live in the Village of Glenwillow.

How do you reserve your ride for medical appointments?

Reservations for medical appointments should be made at least ONE WEEK IN ADVANCE between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday by calling 232-9988. If you are scheduled to have a procedure requiring the use of anesthesia, please make other arrangements. The van is not equipped and drivers are not trained to handle emergencies that may arise during transport. Please note that the van is not available on Wednesday afternoons.

Suggested appointment times are 9:00 a.m. through 2:00 p.m. Return trips are not available after 4:00 p.m. In this situation, please make other arrangements for return transportation.

The following information is required to reserve a ride:

• Name, address and telephone number
• Date and time of appointment
• Destination address
• Physician’s name and phone no.

How do you reserve your ride for other appointments?

Reservations for banking, prescription pick-ups, grocery shopping, social service agencies, library, beauty shops, cinema, etc., should be made 24 HOURS IN ADVANCE by calling 232-9988. Please note that the van is not available on Wednesday afternoons.

How do you cancel your trip?

Please let us know within 24 hours if you must cancel a scheduled appointment.

Van Fare:

There will be a charge of $1.00 per ride (round trip).
